The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly - 2/6/24
The Good, The Funny, The Obvious, And The Ugly (A Slight change for this month…)
The ongoing saga…
The Good – We made it through the holidays – yet again; and, we are all seemingly trying to get back into the groove of moving forward – except in politics, of course.
The Funny – As reported in THE WEEK (02-09-24, p.6), “a multispecies study of 400 hooved animals found that females tend to have larger brains than males, who appear to spend their previous developmental energy growing larger horns.” (NOTE: My wife’s response: “It’s true! Hmmmm).
The Obvious – The first statement on the website for the Peter G. Peterson Foundation: “The United States spends significantly more on healthcare compared to other nations but does not have better healthcare outcomes.” Now, how many times do we have to repeat this?
The Ugly – The World Health Organization (WHO) recently reported that the number of measles cases in Europe has exploded. In 2022, there were 9441 cases. In 2023, the number of documented measles cases across the same geography was 42,200 or, a 4,500% increase. That’s staggering. And, why? Largely due to vaccine misinformation spread on social media.
