Readings To Consider, The Occasional Perspective and (“Ah’Hmm”) Periodic Apology…

Books and Articles worth a Review…

Don’t Believe Everything You Read – In my eagerness to share the video forwarded to me which showcased the amazing voices of three singers, I failed to conduct my due diligence and passed along erroneous information. The three singers where NOT the three children of the famous “Three Tenors” - — Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, and Luciano Pavarotti. Rather, the voices were those of the musical group “Il Volo” – an Italian operatic pop trio who have been inspired by the styles of the Three Tenors. But, they are not their children. Instead, they are Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble. So, let this be a lesson. You can’t trust everything you read even from someone who purports to be careful in passing along information that you can trust 😊. Also, thanks to one of my careful readers who pointed out the error to me…

Covid-19: From Wuhan or Not? – Given all of the controversy about the potential “lab leak theory” as the source of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, I know that many of us are trying to discern fact from fiction on this front. Unfortunately, the politics of the day seems to overshadow much of the discussion. So I point you to a Medium article by Donald G. McNeil, Jr. who was the original author of the information on the lab leak theory for the New York Times back in early 2020. While the read takes about 20 minutes, it makes for an interesting overview of the available information from an individual who has been working the story for over a year. It’s definitely worth a read…and, more importantly, he’s politically neutral as far as I can tell.
